For some strange reason I can't seem to lose this extra baby weight. I've tried everything possible but nothing is working. My legs and thighs are my biggest problem. During pregnancy I gained 56lbs!!! I lost 15lbs instantly and then another 10lbs came off but it stops there. I've tried everything I can imagine. Please help.

Well I have a few tips that might help you out, and I hope they do. I have had two children myself, and I am actually 35 weeks pregnant with my third, so I know what you are going through. Here are some things that helped me lose the extra weight with my first two, and will hopefully work after this one arrives as well. 1- VITAMINS, take them!!! When I'm not pregnant I take Women's Once Daily's. These keep your immune system kicking, but they will also help cravings and energy levels as well. 2- EAT SMALL, don't starve! Instead of eating three larger portioned meals a day, trying eating very small snack-like meals. For instance, for breakfast eat an apple or banana and a piece of wheat toast with peanut butter or cream cheese. Stay away from jams and jellies which are ridiculously high in sugar and calories. For a snack or brunch try a granola or fruit bar. For lunch have only half a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and a handful of dehydrated fruit slices. For another snack try some raw veggies and a low fat ranch dip, and dinner, eat what you would normally eat..just half the usual portions. Eating smaller like this really does help prevent you from over eating. And eating to little actually can make you gain weight because your body stores EVERYTHING it takes in, instead of expelling the excess. 3-Exercise, OF COURSE! Okay, so you knew that was coming right. I hate it too, don't worry. But I find creative ways of doing it, so I don't really "KNOW" I am exercising. I love horseback riding, and it works wonders on the abs and lower back (love handle obliques) Swimming is an awesome way to exercise. Take the little ones for an evening walk in the stroller. Or go window shopping at the mall. Little things like this really will add up! 4- Never Ever EVER eat less than 2 hours before bed. Your digestive system slows way down while you sleep. Sure you will be starving in the morning when you wake up, but that means you are more likely to eat breakfast, which really is the most important meal of the day. Just be sure to make it count and make it a healthy breakfast! 5- Experiment. Instead of the fried fatty foods etc etc that we all love, try grilled foods or baked foods. Instead of using all those greases and oils to flavor your foods, use herbs and spices. These are so much healthier and once you find combinations that work well together they can actually be quite delicious! I really do hope these suggestions help you out! Best of luck!

My advice is go out and exercise, eat more fiber foods like fruits and vegestables, drink pineapple juice or citrus juices and don't sleep oftentimes. Lessen your carbohydrates intake, don't go for the instant lose weight just do it naturally so your body will not be collapse.

I have done a bad, bad thing in my effort to lose weight. I ordered diet pills off the internet. I know that they don't work! But what if this one does? I want to be thin so very badly and will do anything short of surgery to get there. I have such a hard time exercising though. After 9 hours at work in the nursing home, I am just so tired and want to sit down, not go on the treadmill.

I understand exactly what you are saying about the whole exercise thing. Having a new baby I'm always on the go. By the end of the day I'm just too tired to want to do anything more then hit the bed.

It would help to know a few things first... How old is your baby? Are you nursing or bottle feeding? What weight range were you in before pregnancy (underweight, average, overweight)? How old are you? Is this your first baby? Lots of different factors could explain why you are struggling with the "extra" 31 pounds.

Well, I use Billy Blanks' Taebo CDs to help me shape my legs and thighs and it's worked just fine. I've never given birth before but I used to have flabbier legs, thighs, and belly. How old is your baby now? Maybe you need some more time to lose the baby weight. I agree with another person who said that there's a "plateau" phase when you're on the losing weight track. Just keep on exercising regularly and eating healthily and you'll see the results later on.

sometimes, even if you exercise everyday, there would be what they call "plateau" stage...this is when you are doing the same routine each and every day...your body gets used to it and does not respond to it anymore....so what you can do is do a different kind of exercise every now and then....this way, your body would be "challenged" again and eventually respond to it....the weight loss follows...not that big a jump but still, a loss...better than nothing at all....

I'm starting to believe I'm at this stage now. The exercise and dieting is not working anymore.
