dog runs and poops

my dog runs and runs around the house then poops in his favorite place in the yard. is this normal? why does he have to run first? is it like us humans who walk to and fro before going inside the comfort room? he looks so funny running back and forth then only stops when he already feels it's coming out. i hope i could take a video of this one of these days.

Yes its normal, mine do it occasionally too. Or they spin in circles first. One of our little old ones walks while she goes. I'm glad we don't do any of that.
