lame reason for dumping a friend?

This happened in Junior High school. I was at my locker with a friend, well not really a good friend as we did not socialize outside of school, but a good acquaintance certainly. At least we took most lunches and breaks together, she and I and and third person. We were standing at my locker one Friday and I had to sneeze. My arms were totally full of books and I was using the side of one arm to hold the locker open. The sneeze came out before I could react. Unfortunately I sneezed either on her or at least in her general direction. I apologized and forgot about it. Come Monday she informs me that we can't be friends any more. Her parents told her we couldn't be because I had sneezed on her. To this day I can't quite decide whether this was the real reason or something she made up. What do you think?

The only reason that I could think of that her parents would do that (providing that was the real reason) if they were extremely scared of germs. Accidents happen and it's not like you sneezed right in her face on purpose. If it had happened to me, I would have just washed up and went on with my day...eventually laughing about it. I have never heard of dumping a friend for this reason, it is lame. I think that if you really liked someone or wanted them around. You could over look things like a accidental sneeze. I am not sure if her parents are germ-phoebes or what. All I know it it is a lame reason to drop a friendship.

Well, that was pretty lame. I don't believe it at all. Unless she was foreign and that was a great insult or something. I think I would have laughed if someone sneezed on me. I've never really had anything like that happen to me, but I have had people who just kind of didn't email me and others who I would see in the hall who didn't smile at me or anything.
