Desert Camping.... Are you serious?

We recently went to Bridges National Park for a camping trip. In my opinion people who enjoy desert camping are insane. There were no trees near the camp ground so you had to go on a hike to find some shade. The landscape was beautiful and the night sky was amazing, but in my opinion camping should include some nice cool shade, relaxing in the tent, and the sound of a bubbeling brook near by. Do you like camping in the desert?

I think the desert would not be my choice of camping ground. In the day it might get really hot and there wouldn't be any shade or a cool ocean breeze. It might be quiet and there probably wouldn't be many other campers there overnight. I went to Jordan and visited Petra. I stayed in the village not in the desert. It was so hot that I was happy to sleep on a flat roof. The sort of place I like to camp is by the ocean not in the desert. However I imagine at night looking at all the stars in the sky would feel magical.
