Stars? Ratings?

I see people with red stars that says "9" and have like (500) after their name while mine is a red star with a "10" and only (200). Why does my star increase while some other users are like at the same level with more activity numbers and I got less activity count. Okay, I don't understand. :D I don't want to read the FAQ's and stuff, sorry. :D
