Bad day shopping

The Kmart near me was doubling their coupons this week. So I decided to get as many coupons I could that I could use and go there this morning. Well, I got there and looked at their prices and found that even with the double coupons, the items would still be more than they would be at the grocery store I go to. I was a little upset. So, I left without buying anything. I hate it when I go to a store thinking I'm going to save some money only to find out it would cost me more. And the extra gas to get to that store.

Kmart is always a bit more. I bet they upped their prices to allow those double coupons. I sometimes go into Kmart, expect to pay more but it is never that much more than going to WM, especially when I save on gas.

That happens to me all too often. I try to look at all the newspapers to see what the deal is. Sometimes when I'm out I'll just make a few shopping trips to see what they have for sale so I can just check out their prices before it comes time for me to actually go shopping. It helps take the pain off of shopping later. Not to mention if I'm not really looking for anything special, I won't be tempted to buy it on my first trip there.

oh dear that's such a shame isn't it. coupons are supposed to help us save money. maybe the Kmart marketing executives'd like to have us think so. sometimes i don't check the price as i thought coupons will definitely mean some savings. now that you've point this out, i've gotta make it a point to compare prices even with coupons. with gas prices this high, we can't afford to make too many wasted trips. cheers :o
