Do you love to eat kare-kare?

Kare-kare is a Philippine stew. It is made from peanut sauce with variety of vegetables,stewed oxtail and beef.Meat variants may include goat meat or (rarely)chicken.It is often eaten with bagoong (shrimp paste) sometimes spiced with chili and sprinkled with calamansi lime juice. I like kare-kare, when it is serve as our main dish it looks like theres a fiesta in our house.I love it most when it is sticky and theres a lot of peanut in its broth.

I love Kare-kare but I dont eat the oxtail. I just want the lean beef. I also like seafood kare-kare. The peanut sauce is the best part of it, especially when the shrimp paste is a bit spicy and the white rice is steaming! I know how to cook it but I cant make it as perfect as my grandma's.
mmmm, makes me hungry! LOL!

Hmmm! This discussion is three years old but the taste of kare-kare is still as good. My family loves kare-kare. It is one of our favorite Sunday dishes. I actually don't eat much of the meat in the kare-kare but the vegetables I do really enjoy...the pechay most especially. Kare-kare without shrimp paste will not be kare-kare at all and also without peanuts added kare-kare will not be worth eating at all.

Hi! I have moods for kare-kare. I would mostly rather eat the Mindanao spicy chicken or beef curry called "Kurma". It is cooked with peanut butter. It tastes a bit like kare-kare but spicier and less tangy. If the kare-kare does not have oxtail and is cooked with very spicy bagoong, I will definitely eat it with steaming white rice.

I love kare-kare as well, one of my favorite dish. I like eating the meat, beef, pork or oxtail, with creamy and lots of peanut sauce in it's broth and with vegetables and sweet and spicy shrimp paste. It was really delicious, really quite a fiesta when it also serve as our main dish. Thinking it now quite make me hungry and like to eat kare-kare.

Kare-kare is also one my favorite pinoy dishes because of it's saucy and creamy texture. I like foods with sauces. Unfortunately, I am allergic to shrimp so I cannot combine it with 'bagoong'. I just put some turpentine sauce to make it a little bit saulty. I cannot fully satisfy myself whenever I eat Kare-kare because the fish sauce didn't match.

I love to eat beef kare-kare but I prefer without the shrimp paste ever since I was young and I have gotten used to it. :)
