Though I think the idea of the wings and halo is cute, I tend to think when I see those that the person whose name they surround is no longer with us. That's the more traditional use of angel wings in tattooing. That said, it's a personal choice and if that's what you want, go for it! I don't have my kids' names, but I have their initials on a tattoo. My 'kiddo' tat is hearts and stars.

Agreed, the traditional meaning of wings and a halo are for those who are no longer with us. I do not have any names tattooed on my body, not my parents, my kids, myself... I just don't like name tattoos. However, I do have tattoos that represent my children, but not their names.

I think your idea to get your daugher's tattoo when she's born is really really sweet. But I do hope you don't. Putting people's name especially the ones you love on your body as a tattoo, brings bad luck.. I have many friends that have tattoos of their significant other's on their body and all of them had a tragic end.. I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, and I do apologize if I seem doing so. But I really do hope that you don't because putting names of people that you love on yourself usually gives bad luck to the person. And congratulations on your baby!! :)
