EBAY.COM is a great place to find rare merchandise that is no longer available in stores, especially vintage stuff. I bought some beautiful rare dolls from there in addition to other collectibles that I would not be able to find anywhere else, because they are so rare.

What you have to ask yourself now though is how long will i be able to find these things for? Ebay are radically changing, au, uk,it, have been changed for the worse, eventually when the company are finished there will be no more auctions on the site all there will be will be buy it nows and they will be from companies and businesses, you will not be able to find anything rare or even a bargain because the items that are up for sale will be the same things you can buy in a highstreet store and they will be of similar price. Trade is shifting from ebay, alot of people don't know where to go and so are sticking it out as long as they can but fee's are going up at a stupid rate, rules are being changed in unfair ways and the general consensus on ebay uk boards is a very unhappy one with the way things are going. Where will you go when there are no more auctions? where will you go when there are no more of these rare items for sale? and where will you go when there are no more rare bargains? Ebay has become a very sad place to be at the moment and for alot of people it is simply more hassle than it's worth.

I collect various things as well and I have always had pretty good luck finding items on ebay. For me though I would much rather buy stuff there then sell it. it amazes me how cheap some of the stuff goes for and some of the rare things I have bought I can't imagine getting rid of for the little bit they sold for on ebay.
