How to make a friend smile when sad?

humour has a magic power to smooth our daily life. it can make us smile and let us understand the world is beautiful. but it is not so easy to make a sad friend smile.
sad will build a heavy wall which difficult to break up. so how to destroy the wall and make your friend smile?

A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved and a joy shared is a joy doubled, so share teh sorrow and give him good advice.

It is not always appropriate to be trying to make a sad friend smile. Sometimes it is more helpful to just be there and let them talk things out, or not talk if that is what they need. Life is full of hurts and sorrows and being happy all the time and smiling isn't always the best thing.
