What is your favorite Disney cartoon? My entire family is a big fan of Disney cartoons, especially my mother. I think my favorites are Alice In Wonderland, Poccahontis, Beauty And The Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladin and Snow White. Those were movies that I grew up watching. As a kid I didn't get to go to the movie theater much, but I did get to see Beauty And The Beast as well as Aladin in the theater. All of the Disney cartoons are things that the whole family can enjoy. My nieces and nephews love watching the same ones that I loved as a child and that my mother also loved as a child.

My favs: -Beauty and the Beast -Little Mermaid -Mulan -The Rescuers -Cars (since that's a Disney/Pixar production) When Beauty and the Beast came out in 1990 (or thereabouts), I saw one movie critic on TV predict that it will win the Oscar for Best Picture. It lost to "Silence of the Lambs", but I like watching Beauty over and over than Silence. Little Mermaid's awesome as well. The soundtracks for both were terrific too. I bought the CD for the soundtracks of both Beauty and Mermaid. My nephews like the catchy chorus songs while I like the ballads and many of the instrumentals. I used to lull myself to sleep by playing the Beauty CD in my CD Walkman -- back before the days of iPods. Mulan and The Rescuers have strong, lovable characters and heartwarming plots. :) My 5 y/o nephew runs to my room everytime he hears these two playing in my DVD player.

The Disney movies always have such great soundtracks. There are always those great songs that you can't help but love. I've never seen Silence of The Lambs, but I'm sure I'd prefer Beauty And The Beast over that lol. I haven't seen 'Cars' yet. I have nephews that love it, though. The Rescuers is one of those movies that seems to get overlooked a lot. I remember that one and The Rescuers Down Under, which was also really cute.

"Cars" is a very funny movie. I'd recommend it for kids and adults. :) You're right, The Rescuers is underrated. I remember not being impressed with the Down Under sequel though. Yep, Beauty seems to have gained more fans over the years than its competitors for the 1990 Best Picture Oscar.

I don't know where to find the music from Alice In Wonderland. Sorry. I only remember seeing the Great Mouse Detective like once or twice. We never owned that one, so I didn't watch it much. The rest of those are all ones I love, too.

When I was little, it was 101 Dalmations and Cinderella. I wore both of the tapes out. Pocahontas was very influential, as well, as a became a bit of a nature nut after seeing it. I also had a thing for Greek history, so I loved Hercules. I even bought a "How to draw the characters" book for that movie. I didn't go to movie theaters much as a child, either, but I do remember my parents taking us to see new Disney movies in theaters. I still watch Disney movies all the time. My roommate wants to work for Pixar, and my sister is an animation major who wants to work for Disney. Now I think I my favorite is Beauty and the Beast.

I had a younger cousin who just absolutely loved 101 Dalmations. I think I've only seen Hercules once. I love all those 'How To Draw' books. I would check them out at the library when I was a kid. Good luck to your roommate and your sister with their career goals. Those would be really cool companies to work for!
