She is supposed to have her surgery next Monday. We are all glad they are finally going to get it over with and remove the cancer. I know she'll have trouble with recovery with her back pain and having all the kids, but it just seems better to get the cancer out quick as possible. Her grandmother will be there the whole time to help with the kids which is nice.

It's always kind of scary to look forward to surgery, yet it gives you time to process everything that's going on. She'll probably be glad to have the cancer removed and to begin her recovery. Hope she doesn't have much back pain. That's great that her grandma is willing to help her at such a difficult time. Good luck to your cousin.

Thank you. After she gets over this surgery she has to have the back surgery. I bet it will be even harder recovery wise. At least my sister has had a really rough time after hers.

Do you know what type of cancer it is? Where is it located? I just went through surgery with my dad. Luckily the tumors removed from his bladder were non-cancerous. What type of treatment are they talking about after surgery? Good luck. My thoughts and prayers with you and your family during this time. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm sorry. I forgot to include all that information this time. She has thyroid cancer. It is papillary cancer which is the easiest to treat and cure, thank goodness. She is only 28 years old and has for children under 11! After the surgery she will received radioactive iodine treatments, then take medication for the rest of her life.

Thank you. From what other people who've had thyroid surgery say, it's not too bad recovery wise. I just know with her other problems and having to care for four kids, it won't be easy.
