Ugh! This is a tough one! But I would probably be as gentle as I can when I break the news to him/her. I'd really make it clear to him/her that I really care that's why I'm telling him/her. After all, it takes a lot of courage to tell someone that he/she stinks. I'd also tell him/her when no one else can hear what I'm saying. I'd also tell my friend that I don't want people to say bad things behind her/his back, so I'd like him/her to do something about her/his bad breath or body odor.

In grade school there was a guy who had really bad BO, nobody wanted to sit next to him at anytime. Our solution (because we were such nice girls) was to gather up some nice smelling soaps, deodorant, toothepast, mouthwash, and a couple other nice things and put it a box and leave it on his desk with his name on it. Turns out his family didn't spend money on personal hygiene items so he really appreciated it. Maybe you could do something similar and tell your freind that there was a really great sale you couldn't pass up so you bought him/her one too...

Well, you have to do it while remaining innocent. If you act like you're just being mean or making fun of them, you might get them upset, of course. Act like the victim. Make a sniffing sound and flinch, see if they get the hint that you are suffering. Try to tell them without saying anything.

In high school I was asked to tell one of the girls in our class that she had BO. She was shy and sat close to me in class so fellow female students thought I was the best choice to tell her. I took her aside and told her the others were talking about her BO and suggested she may want to try a different deodorant. Turned out she had never used it before. She has ever since.

i would like pretend to snif your arm or something, and then pretend to smell your friend, and then innocently say "few...we both stink" so put it in a way that you both have it in common so it doesnt make your friend imbaressed. It should work, if you guys are really good friends, he/she shouldnt get offended if you do it right and dont single them out! Happy mylotting!
