There is a law now against food establishments who mislabel their food products. They are now required to state accurately the trans fat content of their products. More and more states are becoming alarmed at the increasing percentage of fat related health conditions and are now requiring that foods served in food establishements across the country should comply with this law or face the consequences of a suit. It has been observed that there is an increase in the use of trans fats- a saturated fatt acid and considered a bad fat- in food establishments. This prompted governors, law makers and health organizations to approve the law. This is good news for everyone because it assures the public of good food and less heart ailments. I wonder when will it be reinforced here at my place too. What are your thoughts on these?
