Why has the sound mute on my itune all of a sudden ?

It's brand new macbook, itunes was working up until 3 days ago, and suddenly decide not to play sound , though it appear to be playing the file , the sound work elsewhere ? i.e internet.

did you check your volume? or is it the volume of the speakers or iTunes that is mute?
