Do you wish you had picked a different user name here at myLot?

My user name is derived from my dog's name. Someone answered a discussion with me the other day assuming I was male. I'm not. I hadn't really thought about it before, but my user name gave them that impression.
How about you? Do you have problems because of your choice of user name? Do people assume certain things about you? How can you tell?

My MyLot user name is my Amateur (HAM) radio call sign. VE is a designator for Canada Eh? 3 is for Ontario and IYB is my designator. I don't have problems with my user name other than people wondering what the heck it is. Do people assume certain things about me? I guess they think that I must be one of those computer geeks who also plays with radios. That would be my guess as I can't tell.

I like my user name. It is actually the title of a song I wrote. Hope to record in the next 6 months in a studio in Nashville TN. There is quite a bit of meaning behind it. I don't think I would change my name if I had the chance.

Yes I am a pastor and yes it is a Christian song. Most of my song would fair well on both the Christian and secular radio. Most of the songs I write are life songs. That is they are song about my life or someone I know.
One of my favorites is Double love you. Another is one call Where the Numbers Stop. I hope once I get these songs recorded that I will be able to share them with all of my wonderful friends here.

i actually hope that mine seems somewhat ambiguous - we really should not assume that because a certain group of letters looks like a certain word, that it is - i used to use one with a mis-spelling of feather - pheather
and when some guy thought he was so smart, and said - heather will you go for a drink with me - i booted him - THE NOIVE!

Yes, I wish just the same. I am uncomfortable when some users are mistyping my name. When I registered here, I was not really aware that the username will be used all the time. I thought it will be just a private thing and will not be displayed to others. It was too late when I learned that it will serve as my identification to other users. Now, so many are either typing it Salenga, Salango, Salanga. (ha!ha!ha!) If possible I will change it into a shorter one.

Yup.. I wished my username is shorter... I hate long usernames. I thought I could change this... They should have an option where you can change your display name or something... Sad...

Oddly enough, I've never had a problem with my user name. I guess since that It has the word 'rose' in it, they can guess that I'm female. Plus, since my heritage is about 90% Irish, and I'm very proud of it, I had to throw that in. So no, I don't wish I had picked a different name. In fact, I think I choice the right one!

i find this funny too as people always assume i am male, i dont know whether this is due to my username or my avatar or maybe both???
i dont wish i had picked a different username tho as mine is my childrens names and i wouldnt change it for anybody x
