I hate my hair. No matter what I do, it will just not hold hair dye. semi-permanant color will almost comnpletely wash out of my hair in just a few days. it is supposed to last a few weeks. And the color is never what it is supposed to be. Once I dyed it black with red streaks, ended up with brown and blonde streaks in less than a week. I just dyed my hair blue-black and it turned out a really light green. It is the best screw up so far though. Once I went to a professional, spent 100 bucks to get my hair dyed blue and ended up with yellow hair in a week. All the dye had washed out completely and so all that was left was the bleached hair. horrible. What can I do? Any tricks? I think I've tried just about everything already though. wash cold water, shampoo for colored hair, vinegar, leaving the dye in for a half hour, leaving it in for 3 hours, applying heat while dying. bleaching it, not bleaching it, etc, etc, etc. I just feel hopeless. All I want is awesome hair. sadness. many tears. If anyone feels like they can give me any suggestions or tips at all, please do. Thanks.

Wow,Have you tried doing it while your hair was dirty? and not washing it for like 72 hours or more after the hair dye? My hair dyes okay except once when it turned greenish tint when I was dying it red but that happened only once and never again. Could be the water you wash your hair in? Ever tried not using the water at home to wash it in? Have you tried Garnier hair coloring dye and also used the shampoo to help prolong the hair colors life. It worked great for me. But everyone's hair is different I know it cost more but for me it was worth it. It did a better job then most. I love their color called Roasted Coffee. Well, I hope someone here was able to help you. I wish I could have helped more. I would suggest trying to change the water you are using cause some do strip hair color especially if it has chlorine in it like most city water has. Also try not washing your hair for atleast 48-72 hours before dying and then waiting 72 hours or more after dying it. The sun can also effect your hair color some. I don't know why the professionals washed out so easy but I would have went back and ask for a new hair dye or a refund cause they didn't might not have done it right. Are you suing ammonia or peroxide free hair dye if so maybe trying one with it might work better. Again sorry. Hope something works for you. I know it can be so aggravating to not get the results you want from a hair dye. I do recommend using Garnier and the Garnier Shampoo as well.

It's not the water. I have lived in a few places when I've dyed my hair myself and I have also gone to multiple hair salons. And I have problems with the dye before I even wash it. I have used special shampoos. And everyone usually says that you should dye your hair when it is as clean as possible, so that is weird that you say the opposite, but maybe I will try it. It's worth a shot. I think I am just cursed.

The dyes that I have used always said not to wash hair for atleast 24 hours before dying and that it is to be not styling products in it at the time is dying. Some who have problems dying their hair or their hair frizzes a bit after dying should wait atleast 24-48 hours before dying hair after washed and not wash for atleast 72 hours after. My grandma used to do all the church ladies hair till she was unable to do it anymore.

this is also what i also felt.. i really hate my hair.. its because the ones who are suppossed to make it look great are the one who makes my hair to look ugly.. im always unsatisfied of their works.. youre lucky because your only problem is dying your hair.. maybe you should go to popular salons..my problem is much worse 'coz my hair is really ugly

I have gone to popular salons and it ended up with worse results than cheaper dyes. So far manic panic has been the best. I doubt your hair could be uglier than mine.
