Anyone notice the little nods to Fight Club and The Godfather in this movie?

There are lots of little nods to Fight Club throughout his movie such as the hazing, the diner scene wear his order is on the house, and the movie in general is pretty much like a happy, funny version of fight club. Also, there is this subtle nod to The Godfather in the beginning wear you see a bowl of oranges right before he walks in on his girlfriend. In The Godfather, you always see oranges whenever something bad happens.
