I always wanted to have a piggie bank since i was a kid and i got one when i was already in hi-school but what is not good is im not consistent in keeping money on it. Actually i thought its so easy to have it full but its hard, and maybe im not that patient to maintain discipline on keeping money. I think having a piggy bank is one way of implementing discipline to yourself.

Hi mayrose, I think the simple way to keep your money in piggy bank is every time you got coins on your balance when buying something, try not to use it all, keep it in your piggy bank when you go home. Make it every day and you will see the result. If you maintain with this way, i am sure you can discipline yourself for saving money with piggy bank

My son has a piggy bank and he just uses it to store his money until he finds something he REALLY wants. To me the point of the piggy bank is to teach responsibility. Learning that you have to save up for what you want and that you need to make decisions because once you spend your money, it is gone until you make (or get) more.

I don't have a piggie bank but I have a similar way of spending money. Whenever I pay with cash anything under $1 (which is a loonie here) that is change I put in a little change container. I roll up the change when I collect enough to make a roll. I then deposit it in the bank. I use it specifically to pay off one of my credit cards. This has worked really well so far. I usually make enough in change a month to pay the interest on the credit card.

I do have piggy bank. I also think having piggy bank means responsibility and discipline ourselves. I will keep money everyday in my piggy bank. It doesn't matter how much I keep, as long as I keep some money.

A piggy bamk is a fine idea,as long as the slot in the pig isny big enough to slide a knife into lolol,if it is then you can always lull yourself into a false sense of security and just take a few quid out.But they do have these china piggy banks that have no slot whatsoever, they have to be broken in order to take the money out,but sometimes the detterent still isnt big enough. My daughter bought one of these hugr pigs with no hole in it,she saved endlessly, and was doing really well investing her hard earned money, then a carrot was dangled in front of her very nose,an it was a giant vegetable too!!it was a widescreen television, that her hubby wanted to purchase lol,he asked her to chip in with some of her cash, they could pool what they had and then buy the new widescreen.Foolishly enough she did,and there was nearly two hundred pounds in her savings, but it soon was eaten up at the department store, and there in pride of place sits this monstrosity that takes up half of the living room.
