Ok, I started with a windows 98 ME computer, and I would say I am fairly good with computers, I have noticed that my friends who are using vista win XP pro etc are not very efficient with computers! I am wondering if this has anything to do with the OS they use. Please, let me know what OS you use and how proficent you are or leave your own ideas about this theory! Thanks in advance.

For me , vista still not so suitable bcuz still have many application software out the market cannot support Window Vista. I am still using Win XP. Win XP which provide more security than win 98.

Very true, but yet Win XP has a major flaw. It can be hacked through the admin restart press F8 franticly or F6 i dunno. then select safe mode then pop your in.

I'm profficient enough in Win XP pro, win2000pro and win98se but not much in vista as I've used it only for 30day evaluation from which I didn't actually see much difference between Xp and vista except the slowness of computer. I'm not interested in the eyecandies of Vista since you get far more in Linuxes like Ubuntu I suppose win2000pro is the good one...it blends the simplicity of 98 and technology of Xp...basically Xp is built on this NT technology. nyway XP might be offering much security. But the problem is that inspite of all security measures, XP is the prime target of hackers. So I'm not concerned abt security since I use linux for netbrowsing, networking, etc. since low on graphis, 2000 uses less memory than Xp and if your graphics card works well with 2000, I hope you get more gaming power and speed in 2000...but you have some probs in that too...so default compression softwares, etc, etc, but it is worth suffering a bit with 2000 becuse is is more faster than XP
