Halloween

My kids are still little, real little, so they are really into trick or treating. I don't think I could talk them into skipping trick or treating to go to what the local church does. But we could do both. They'll have a blast either way.

We're skipping trick or treating this (due to food allergies). I'm going to take them to the local High School for what they call "Safe Halloween." We've never been yet, but I was told it's very limited on candy, and they will get a lot of those little toy things, like dollar store stuff. As long as they have fun, I'm fine with it. Since we're in a basement and the door is around back, I don't hand out candy. My daughter has not decided what she wants to be, but my son will be an astronaut.

My kids always go trick or treating. Sometimes I take them but usually I stay home to hand out treats while my husband takes them door to door. We have a "trunk a treat" party at my church and we never miss that fun event. Another thing we always do is visit our local nursing home. The residents there love seeing the girls dance around in their princess, ballerina, etc costumes and delight in giving them a treat. My children think that is the best thing about halloween. Ok, they like the candy too. LOL

My kids want to have a party this year. Which surprised me. So I told them they could each invite a couple friends over. They want to have snacks and watch a movie. So, we are going to do that. My daughter is also going to dress up and go trick or treating. Or course we'll be handing out candy - my favorite part!
