Have you ever had something damaged or vandalized?

I am so angry. I heard someone banging our fence early this morning about 1:30. I cannot understand why our dog did not bark. They must have come out of the pub next door and I put the light on and looked out to see what was going on. Well that must have disturbed them because they moved on.
This morning I found a fence paling outside our front door. They had pulled this wooden paling off our fence and thrown it at our front door. Luckily for us the paling is the only damage. But it still makes me angry. We live in a very quiet rural town and nothing like this has ever happened before.
I have no idea why. There was no reason for this damage. Have you ever had someone damage your property or vandalize something of yours for no reason?

Last June, the window of my husband's car was forcibly smashed. The robber took my husband's hand carried luggage and coat hanger. Good thing, they were both company issued and nothing was very valuable inside. The robber must have been really surprised when he opened it and saw mostly dirty clothes inside, hehehe... the only thing valuable in there is my husband's passport. Of course, he had to apply for a new one and since we both work in the airline industry, he had to miss work for the rest of the month. He also missed our 2nd year anniversary trip that we already booked and paid for, we couldn't cancel it so I had to go alone! Bummer!
