Third time's not a charm.. Strokes can happen anytime

Hi guys. Well, last week as a pretty sad week for me. I had my third stroke last Tuesday (Sept 30) and I was confined until Saturday afternoon. Well, I had a bit more of what I usually ate as it was salary day. I was enjoying that day, relaxing in front of the television and getting ready for work an hour ahead of time. Then, it happened again. My face got numb and I can't feel my fingers that much when I pinched my left cheek. Then my arms got very weak and I feel dizzy. I was rushed again and was diagnosed for another TIA (Transcient Ischemic Attack - mild stroke) and was monitored for 2 days in the stroke unit. I am stunned. It was my mistake though and just that one day, one bad choice of eating extra when I got hit again. I'm only 28 and I already had 3 mild strokes. I feel lucky but extremely worried. A bit of an irony there but I only had mild strokes but I need to make changes, immediately. Well, I'm at the bottom part of my life now. My medicine costs have almost tripled and I wasn't able to return to work (thus, no salary next time) but I still thank God that I still have a chance. Very few people have this chance. I didn't promise anything. I'll just do it. I may have lost a few years of my life but I can still take care of myself for me, my family and friends. God bless and take care everyone.

Hi Laura! Thank you. I've been in very bad situations lately (physical, emotional, and mental) and I'm still trying to settle things before Christmas. I am doing better in terms of my health. I've maintained my weight and my blood pressure doesn't go high as frequent as before. Thank you so much Laura. I am so grateful that at least I can still recover and I have a chance to correct what I've done wrong to myself. Thanks again and take care my dear friend.

Hey rob! Been a while. How are you doing? Well, yeah, even a small change would mean a big difference in my situation. No more fast food, no more chips. I did reduce my intake of those foods be a very big margin but I didn't know I'd have to take it further until it was too late. Thank you and take care my friend.

Hi! I am doing well. I haven't been on here too much, been taking care of my son. He had surgery. Everything back to normal here. Hopefully the changes you are making will make a huge difference.

What a terrible thing to happen to anyone, 3 strokes and only 28? I have never had a stroke and I do not plan on having one. I had a cousin who had 11 strokes and he was still fighting even though partially paralyzed.

I wish your cousin would have all the strength and faith to battle stroke. It's a real blow to me to have 3 attacks already. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. Let's take care of our health better.

Thank you moon. Yeah, It's really tough to go through with it for the 3rd time. I still have to make some modifications to suit my condition. I'm just happy that I have my family and my friends with me all through out. Thank you and take care.

my prayers are with you-28 is terribly young to be having all these mild strokes-get a dietician to help you set-up a good healthy meal plan and make sure you take your medication properly-good luck

Thank you jackie. That's another good point as well. I did miss 4 months of medicine after I had my 2nd stroke last year. I was out of work back then and I had no source of income. Life is hard but I'm slowly getting back up. I'll always keep that in mind as well. Take care.
