People before we say some is my friend I think we need to discuss what qualities friend should have rather what qualities you see before making anyone your friend ?
I think it is better to just be friends with everyone, I have been let down over the last few years by people I thought were best friends, so i don't have best friends anymore I prefer to just have lots of equal friends....
