Playing with Elfin Shortbread.

I found the perfect recipe for rainy days and when you child has sleep overs it's called Elfin Shortbread Bites. What is is a square cookie cut into 1/2 inch squares if you pair this up with frosting you can then make buildins and want not with it. So I hope you give this tasty fun treat a try with your kids on a rainy day. Elfin Shortbread Bites. Makes about 160 Oven 325 Ingrediant 1 1/4 c. all purpose flour 3 Tbls. Sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 Tablespoons colored sprinkles. Directions 1.) In a medium bowl stir together flour and sugar. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and starts to cling. Stir in colored sprinkles. Form mixture into a ball and knead until smooth. 2.) Pat or roll the dough into an 8x5 inch rectangle on an ungreased cookie sheet; cut into 1/2-inch squares. Sepatate the squares on the cookie sheet. 3.) Bake in a 325 oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until bottoms just start to brown Transfer cookies to a wire rack covered with waxed paper let cool. Then you could either make homemade icing or you could buy some store bought icing. So what would you make with these flavorful building blocks?
