why do circles have no edges?

hahaha! really really bored right now. i heard my niece she asked her mother why a circle has no edges. Mother: because it is not a square Daughter: but, why do squares have edges and circles don't have any? Mother: because circles and round and round objects don't have edges. Daughter: but why can't they have edges? silly as it may sound, her query did stir up some interest in my mind. why don't circles have any edge? :) hahaha! happy posting...

Oh, that's really a good questions from the daughter. I also don't know how to answer. But i would explain to her that round is something special where it does not have edges. Actually sometimes round also can be consider edges, example some square table, their edges is round. So round is a special shape that allow edge or without edges. Wonder that will confuse more for the daughter.
