My baby is shitzu/poodle too! She's about ten pounds. She is Almost two years old but she has soo much energy. She has as much, if not MORE energy than she did when she was six months old. She is extremely smart. She housetrained herself :) She is so loving and extremely loyal. She does need a lot of brushing, but that's the only downside I think, if you cane even call it that. I love grooming her and taking care of her, so for me, it's no chore.

My husband and I agree that if we were ever to get a little house dog it would be a Min Pin. They look like miniature dobermans. They are really just so cute I think. I don't really want a long haired dog like a shitzu because they constantly need brushing. Pomeranians are adorable but once again, a long haired dog. No matter what you choose, realize that you need to research the breed. There may be some health issues you may not be aware of. Look at thier demeanor. Do they have special needs? Are there degenerative issues? If you are looking for a pure bred, be sure and check out the breeder and their facility.
