In most officesw smoking is banned. Should smoking be permitted in your own office or should you go to the smoing room to have a smoke? What if you are a chainsmoker?

There are a few places where I work that has a little balcony for people to go out and smoke. I don't smoke my self but I guess it's not fair to send them outside especially when it gets cold outside. It is really state law that prohibits us from allowing smokin ginside the building.

I do not think it should be permitted in any office. Unless you own the building and are the only one working there perhaps. The smell and smoke do not stay just in the office. Even if they did they soak into the walls and furniture and that would be a cost to replace and repaint. I have been in an office where the person smoked years before and you could still smell it. I just don't think it should be allowed.
