Okay, I am in a jam.... I work in an auto shop, six days a week, usually 11 or 12 hours a day. I get paid rather well, which is the only reason I haven't quit yet. But the economy is a mess right now and business has been slow for quite some time. Well, last week my paycheck bounced. So I have yet to get payed for last week. I called in sick today, because I was a little under the weather and yes, I needed a break. My boss called me around 7 p.m. and told me that theres no work on the schedule tomorrow so I should just stay home and do some things around the house. Its just me and him there, so if theres no work I understand where hes coming from. But should i worry and start looking for a new job. I will most likely take a pay cut if I do, but what other choise do I have?

Hi there yanksfan! You work to earn but if you work and you are not paid the amount you are entitled to, something must be wrong. I hope that you will be able to sort things out with your current employer. If things do not work well, I suggest that you start looking for another job. But just to be sure, do not leave your job until you get to find one. And when you decide to leave, be sure you get your last paycheck.

As long as your hands are full of work , no need to worry about the job. As long as you are getting your salary in time no need to worry about your work. the best way to decide is second one. If they are delaying in getting your salary then that company is sick and its time for you to move out. But one thing i would like to tell you that don't quit the job until and and unless you find one.
