Why people need to collect 12 different fruits every new year coming???!!!

round fruit symbolizes money. maybe you should start collecting round fruits now till new year for more money. hehehehe. I've started it already. i know this won;t reach new year's eve. hehehe

My mom also do that. She said she do that to attract good and have prosperity. I know that is a Chinese origin. Some sort of feng shui I guess.. Have a nice day..

My mom did the same, i think its a Chinese tradition, and they say, if your gathered complete different fruit, before the clock strike at midnight on new year's day, it will attract good luck for the entire year..

yes, i used to ask my mama why do we have to collect 12 fruits, well my mama collects 13 fruits, the "patola" as the 13th. she said that it is already a part of the tradition, having 12 fruits will mean luck and prosperity for the whole year, the scents of the fruits attracts good luck and adds graces to the table. i do think it is a chinese influence.

Collecting round fruits for the new year brings good luck and blessings for the coming year. It's a Chinese tradition.
