What is the meaning of discussion?

We all know what the word itself mean.
But to my belives it is missintepreted here on Mylot.
A disussion is not only to answer to someone's topic and that's it. If thats what's the case we could call them 'oppinions' instead of 'discussions'.
I think they are meant to be discussed and I don't see much of it here :/
Am I mistaken or what?

I see lots of discussions that are true interactive discussions. A topic is posted. Many members respond with their opinions and thoughts on that topic. Some respond to the response. And sometimes those responses back and forth can go on for a long time. A discussion is more than a simple yes or no answer. It is more than simply agreeing or not agreeing with the poster. A discussion is like a conversation.
