what motivates you to play pigeon race?

i see some people who devoted themselves in the sports of pigeon racing. i myself have breeder pigeon and some flyer pigeon which i plan to race next year. my reason in having a pigeon as a pet and hobby is that it fascinates me to see that they are coming back after a long journey or toss. i love their loyalty to their owner. how about you what is your motivation or reason in having a pigeon pet.
