What are some cheap food that I could leave there that won't spoil if not left in a refigorator? All I can think of are crackers, popcorn and pretzels, but I would like something filling and that isn't so plain.

I buy granola/fruit/protein bars from Costco and leave the whole box at work for me. It doesn't take a lot to fill me up but at least you wouldn't have to stick them in the refrigerator. I also sometimes get the Uncle Ben's rice packets. They don't need to be refrigerated and you just microwave them. They come in a variety of flavors. I must say they are not the best tasting and sometimes the rice doesn't fully cook but again, no refrigeration and quick to prepare.

I saw the rice, and thought oh yeah they are good, I have never had a problem with them cooking all the way, do you loosen them up before putting in the microwave? It might help, also if the 90 seconds of heat time doesn't work, try experimenting by adding ten seconds to the time til you find one that works with your microwave, some of the varieties are not great but that is me, some are great

I like to bring ramen or cup-o-noodles, then vary it with some trail mixes and dry fruits. They're not so heavy and easy to carry.
