I am from India. We have got the country divided into various states basically depending upon the language spoken by the people. We have largest number of languages in the World. Including the dialects in our Country we have more than 814 languages. Though English and Hindi are our Official languages with few others. These languages are restricted to educated class only. Well Hindi isspoken in almost all of the Northern part of India. The Major Languages spoken in India by various people are Malyalam, tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujrati,Konkani,Hindi,Oriya,Bengali, assami, Haryanvi, Punjabi, Urdu,Pahadi,Kashmiri etc apart from english. Its really a unity in diversity. Inspite of having so many different languages we still stand united together and have no problems in communicating with each other! How many languages are spoken in the Country where you live ? Please respond ! Thanks!

I come from Philippines. I would say this country is the home where International people live. The native tongue here is Tagalog but the major language of instruction here and for business is English. But not only that, when I said home of International people, its not just that Filipinos can utter English, but we can utter it superbly well. English with different varieties whether it is British or American. In addition to that, there are also Spanish speaking people, and some of our dialects are mixed up by words coming from Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and English. Some are Nihongo speaking people, some knows how to speak Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese. Others speak French. This is really the land of talented people.

If dialects can be regarded as languages, I think there are no less than hundreds of languages in our country, since people from different provinces, cities even different counties speak different dialects that they can make each other confused about what they are talking about! That's magic, isn't it? How funny it is!
