Is Americans spoil the environment ?

As per statistics found in newspapers and other sources, Americans are worstly spoiling the environment. Their individual emission is multifold high than that of some developing countries. Are they over projecting the emissions of Americans or it is a hard to digest true. What you responsible Americans doing to save our EARTH - the only place man can live.
