Anything you wish you could change about the Harry Potter story?

I just finished reading book 7 again and there's one tiny thing that is getting under my craw. When Harry was escaping from his home on the motorbike with Hagrid and Voldemort comes after him, his wand automatically turns and fires on Voldemort. I haven't really figured out why this was so important in the first place cuz it doesn't seem to add anything to the story. Then, when Harry is sitting with Dumbledore in the King's Cross station after Harry dies, Dumbledore says some fantastic story about Harry's wand imbibing some of Voldemort's wand's power when their wands had linked in the graveyard. I don't know, just seemed like it was kind of a messy way to wrap up that particular point. Like JK didn't know what to do with it, so she just had dumbledore make something weird up. Why not leave the whole thing out? Anyway, I love the whole series, obviously, but this one thing kind of bugs me. I want her to go back and rewrite something interesting LOL. Anything that you would have her change if you could?

About Harry's wand, I think it's something about the "wand chooses the wizard" thing and so the wand wouldn't hurt his owner/master and of course, the wand wouldn't let his master die or get hurt and so Harry's wand acted that why. To protect him. --- I'm pretty much contented with the harry potter story but if I can have the power to change something, I wouldn't let Fred and Dobby die. It was just soo sad. :( I know it was war and dying is inevitable but I just can't really accept their deaths.

you know, i had a hard time figuring that one out too. Voldemort wasn't using his own wand when he chased Harry that night, right? JK had somehow failed to explain to her readers why that thing happened. i thought the explanation was really exciting and heart pounding. but it was kinda shady and hard to piece together. and she had to kill Fred, Lupin and Tonks. Fred? who would have thought he'd die? all that mischievousness kinda made him invincible in my mind. Tonks and Lupin. Just when they had a beautiful baby. oh, well. in the end when Harry and the gang were all grown up, i didn't like that at all. i wish the story just ended at the charcters' present age and just give us a little idea what the future might hold for them. can you just imagine Harry Potter all grown up and wrinkly? i like him as it is...

Yeah, I think JK was trying to set up a good reason for Voldemort to go seeking after the invicible wand cuz he already knew his own wouldn't work, and then borrowing someone elses didn't work. But I kind of thought the explanation of why it attacked Lucius' wand was kinda lame. "Uh, cuz it imbibed some of voldemort's power, yeah, that's it." Just kind of a messier explanation than I was used to from JK. A very minor fault in an otherwise wonderful story. Harry old and wrinkly - good one LOL. I guess I just kind of pictured them a few years older than school age, not old and wrinkly haha. I think Haryy will grow up to be very much like Dumbledore when he gets that old. Maybe JK will write a book about their 25th class reunion. probably not. Would make great fan fiction though. Neville will be headmaster by then, and Hermoine will be famous for some discovery or invention like Nicholas Flamel. And Teddy will be the gamekeeper at Hogwarts. He's not really a full-fledge werewolf like his dad, but he has those animal instincts, you know. And he'll think of Hogwarts as his real home like Harry and Hagrid did.
