Gay marriage legal?

In the news today, Connecticut's Supreme Court ruled that gay's have the right to marriage. So, without the religious objections, do you agree that ANY two people have the right to enter into a committed relationship such as marriage and be entitled to all the legal protections of marriage? What I believe is that what consentual adults do in their own home is their business only and no one elses. The only time government or society may enter is when someone is being physically or psycologically abused. I do not find gay marriage threatening. They have the same capacity to love and commit to a relationship as hetero's.
