If you won a $500.00 grocery / food gift card ----

what you would buy that would be non - perishable and would last so that i can start a stockpile for in case anything major happens and we will have food enough for a couple of months or more. I know how to bake bread and stuff like that. I want ideas for stuff that will last and not need refridgeration or anything.

I would buy non-perishable but I would also buy things like lunch meat and cheese that I can freeze and will keep for a long time. You can only put so many canned goods in your house - around here I can't buy them b/c no one will eat them - and you do need meat.

Well I guess canned foods would have to be the go, I would buy lots of those little cans of baked beans to start with, you can buy a lot of vegetables like potatoes in cans these days, beetroot would have to be on the list, oh and I would have to buy lots of cans of tuna for mt cat...

you buy canned goods or in the bottle, but check on the label to be sure that it will last long. noodles is good too and will last for a months.
