I am a sleeping person. Usually spend more than ten hours a day on sleeping. But these days, i am quite busy, I have to spend more hours on my research, so finally I only have seven hours in a day. The feeling is terrible, I can not focus my attention for two hours, and feel tired. One of my former classmate, now studying in America, told me that she can only enjoy four hours sleep in a day. Is there any way can help me solve the problem? How can I spend less time on sleeping while have enough energy to do work? How many hours do you spend on sleeping? How can you make that?

Personally speaking, I usually spend about six to seven hours in sleeping per day. But I feel that it's obviously not enough to charge myself. But you know it's quite hard to change the habit since it is formed. I don't feel sleepy at all before 1 a.m. But I have to get up at seven in the morning. The lack of sleep makes me always take a nap after having lunch in the company. Without this half-hour short break, I often feel sleepy in the afternoon, which affect my normal work. I used to try sleeping earlier at night for several times, but until now it seems no effect.

Without enough sleep, I can not function well during the day time. But I need more than 12 hours to have enough sleep, that is a big problem for me. I know time is very precious for me, I try to form a habit that can help me less than now. But it does not work well. And I find that i do not have enough time to do many meaningful things.

Thank you for your care! I once have a time, I try to sleep less than 6 hours a day, and I made it. I keep myself in that condition for about a month. But after that period, I found I can not last any more, and easy to get cold while hard to recover. I think sleep is very important to our health. To live well in a competive world, now I have to give up more sleep time to work hard.

hello dandan07, Lack of sleep really affects your job especially if you are used to sleeping for 10 hours or so. You can take a nap in the afternoon even for a little while. That will help a lot. It will take time before you can adjust but sooner or later you can use to it. Since I'm on day shift this month, I have a perfect sleep like 7 hours every night. Sleeping in the night time is far different from sleeping in the day time. No matter how many hours I will sleep when I'm on night shift I'm still sleepy.

Thank you. I also find that have a nap in the noon can help me to keep full of energy to deal with the afternoon work. I now try to sleep abour seven hours in the night, while enjoy one hour nap in the noon. I hope that can help me solve the sleep problems in some degree.

I would be blessed if I got atleast 5 hours of sleep each night. After my daughter goes to sleep, I spend most of the night working- since during the day i'm doing errands and such. However, since I usually get 3 or 4 hours of sleep at night, I may get sleepy during the day. So, if there's a good 2 hours before I have to do anything, i'll lay back down and take me a small nap.

Taking care of children is a tiring and energy cost activity. Children are full of energy, they may keep active at any time of the day. Young mother have to be a good sleeper to make great use of several hours' sleep time. I hope you are Ok. Thank you very much.

I sleep for nearly 8hrs. But for a person to be fit he/she needs a minimum of 6hrs sleep. So sleeping for 7 hrs is more than enough :-P Probably I feel you don't have a sound sleep. So,u better work out and do more physical activities so that u'll feel tired and sleep well for those 7 hrs. That will make you feel really fresh and energetic. All the best for your career!! :)

Thank you for your suggestion. I try to do some exercises to strong my body, and make me feel tired before sleep. But some time, I am still hard to fall asleep. Sleeping habit is not easy to change at my age, but I think I need a try. I hope your suggestion can help me a lot. Have a nice day.
