Do you know typing? What is your typing speed?

I am sure that many of the members here who contribute to Mylot know typing and may have a good speed of typing. Especially those members who complete about 100 odd discussions in a single day. I want to know do you know typing? If yes, what is your tying speed and where did you learn it from?
I have learnt typing on a typewriter which I had in my house for a long time. Then, computers were not that famous here. I have a speed of about 35 wpm (words per minute) and I am proud of my speed. Typing really helps save a lot of time on the computer and you can easily learn it through many typing tutor softwares available on the internet.

Well, I never learned typing. Way back when I was still studying I never had a typing lesson so I never learned. I just use a few of my fingers in typing. I think that works for me better than to learn the whole thing. You just made me took a typing speed test now just to check how fast I am and the results were: 32 words per minute. I think that's not bad at all.

It's not bad at all. But knowing typing the correct way will help you to keep increasing your speed as you keep typing. My speed was slow in the beginning but gradually it has increased.

I tried to learn it with the use of the free tutorial on the internet but it seems that I'm a lot faster typing with just a few fingers rather than all of it. But as they say, if I learn it the correct way, I could still increase my typing speed. I think I Just needed time to hone this skill. Thank you for the advice I will try to learn it. God Bless you!

To be honest , I have a normal speed in typing , it can be between 30 to 35 words per minute , I usually have some problems with this low speed , specially in chats and live discussions on the net ,where there are to many people who askes for differnts things at the seem time and they consist to get their answers first ..
I hope that I will improve it to reach at less 50 to 55 words per minute , if there is any suggestions any advices please , share it with us .

Hey that's a good speed and I like that you've set benchmarks for you. I think there no shortcuts but you need to keep typing with accuracy to increase your speed. I think it is a gradual change and cannot happen overnight with any tips or tricks.

hi! 42 wpm is a very good speed. Keep it up. I am also trying hard to increase my speed, but I tend to make many mistakes if I go for high speeds.
