Why do many people laugh when its not a good comedy?

I find many people laughing a lot when its not a comedy at all.There are many who even cry for jokes told.Sometimes i feel people are interested in stand up comedies rather than jokes told by sms.There is lot of difference between a comedian who works for money and a standup comedian.Comedy is not the way its told but the way we express it.
