Do you leave your computer running while pitching in other works or do you.....

You are using your computer then you suddenly thought of something important that you must do. Will you put off your computer and go back to it later, or do you keep your computer running until you have time for it?
I always open my computer very early in the morning and as I do other things I let it run because from time to time I tap some keys. And provided that it isn't too long, I lt the computer running for easy access to it.
I feel it more tedious always going back to the computer and putting it on whenever I like to use it so I leave it running until such time that I leave home to go to work.
Any things that you can share with us? Feel free to do so???????

My computer is on 24/7. I used to be against leaving it on all the time, but I finally read enough about how it's better to leave it on all the time that I gave in. It doesn't really use that much electricity, and really, I don't think anyone should be turning it off EVERY TIME they're done with it. In other words, if you turn it on and then off ONCE a day that's okay, but it shouldn't be anymore than that. I do turn off my monitor at night before I go to bed, that uses more electricity than the computer itself.

Hi there. I keep my laptop on the whole day or, at the least, put it on standby mode. I'm the type of person who likes to check things online from time-to-time so it'd be quite inefficient to switch my laptop on and off every time I want to check my mail. I only turn my laptop off when I go to sleep (at least, when I actually remember to turn it off and when I leave the house. I'm glad my laptop is quite durable, though I've been having fan problems prior to having it fixed last week as a result of leaving it on for long periods at a time.

i don't leave my computer on while i'm away because i really think it's a waste of money and energy. i'm not the one who pays our bills, it's my mother. she complains about our high electricity bills so i guess one way of helping her is to turn off the computer when i'm not using it.=D

I usually just keep it on even while was out for a few hours. Onl;y if I was out of town then I shut it off. I think I shut it off for about an hour or two and then keep it on again.

I leave my computer on all day, not matter what I have to do, or if I have to go somewhere. It has a sleep function that saves energy.
