Once you have deliberated and determined that a course of action in wise, never discredit your judgement. Stand squarely behind your decision. Chances are there may indeed be people who misunderstand your intension and who may even condemn you. But if, according to your best judgement, you are acting rightly, you have nothing to fear. Take a stand. Don't be cravenly noncommittal.

I wish it was as easy as that! Yes, in principle we should stand up and fight for what we believe is right, but there are only a few battles worth fighting. It is not worth arguing about the government that abuses your human rights on every issue, but we must draw a line in the sand and choose our battles. I believe - give me the strength to change what I can, the tolerance to put up with those things I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference! Join me in trying to change things for the better. Have a look at www.fnf.org.uk for one aspect of the battle against discrimination in UK and for a better future for children.
