What are the essential values that you think should be instilled to your children? My mother would always remind me to take good care of my younger brother since we're only two in the family, and that we should not fight all the time. :)

I try very hard to teach my children (especially my older daughter) to be kind to others. Treat other people with respect and kindness even if they don't reciprocate. I like for her to know that it's hurtful to others if you say or do things that are not very nice and that she doesn't like it when people say cruel things to her so she should definitly not do it. She seems to understand and for the most part, except for the six year old brutal honesty, is kind to others. All of my family thinks she is just the best kid they have ever seen. I hope my other daughter will be as capable of loving emotions! She's a bit of a terror right now though... I also try to instill education and career goals into them. I feel that it is very important to understand the extreme value of education and the importance of a good profession to survive comfortably in this world.
