I can remember those days can seem so very long. But now my children are grown...one a college graduate and married and the other a college graduate and not married. Now it seems like those days are ...uh.... me in a whole different world. I can remember the times that you were the center of their attention and their bestest friend in the whole world. They hugged and kissed you and wanted to tell you EVERYTHING that happened in their life. Birthdays seemed oh so special with the gifts the cake and the ice cream and lots of friends. Today... sure we get together ...mainly to go out to dinner...they never want a cake... they don't want you to sing Happy Birthday to them and the gifts ...well... it's just easier to give them money because they REALLY don't need or want anything. Humm.... it's actually now kind of boring. By now they are as totally bored with getting old as I am. Sounds like your little one is still excited about birthdays. ENJOY them while you can. That was the good ole days..........maybe I'll get me some grandchildren one of these days.....!!!

Yes, and where is your kingdom and who is in your kingdom. These things happen when we share our life with others.I often feel the same way yet I know all good things must come to an end and so they do as I go about my way.

I know that the birthday party thing is a loud and busy time, but your daughter will forever remember that you were there for it. It is a small sacrifice really for the happiness that you brought to her day yesterday. I am glad you did it!!! Now I will let you get back to your "kingdom".
