I guess its a good thing that I upload my pictures almost everyday to my computer. I went out last week with a friend and in my purse was my wallet, cash, camera, and phone along with all the little stupid things like old receipts, gum, eye liner and what not. Anyway my camera and cash were the top things in my purse. It was hanging on the back of my chair. We had been sitting there for about an hour or so and had already taken 5 or 6 pictures (that evening) besides the ones that I had taken during the day. I went to grab the camera again and it was gone! Cash still sitting there, phone, wallet every thing all there just the camera GONE! I was soooo upset! I still am! Who does that? Who steals a camera!?! Take the CASH! But don't take my camera! I can't get those pictures back! Really pictures mean SOO very much to me, and now I don't have the ones from that day. I know its just one day and I know its just a camera but each and every picture means so much to me! The camera was about $150.00 so although thats not a lot of money its still money and its still the pictures in the camera. Take the camera just leave my my memory card! So what do pictures mean to you? What would you do if your camera was stolen? Do you upload your pictures often enough just in case??

First of all, sorry that happened ebsharer! *hugs* $150 is a lot of money silly beans. That is groceries or a JetBlue Round trip ticket booked a week or so in advance to another state. haha My mind thinks so weird. Regardless, I fully agree the pictures on the camera are irreplaceable. I mean, honestly, what are the chances you will ever get the same exact angle, position, exposure, etc.?? Camera's are easy to pawn. People rarely put them on their insurance because they think like you, "Oh, it's only $XXX.XX." I don't worry about my camera stolen. But I do upload my pictures often via a memory card reader because I don't want to have my memory full of pictures and miss that fabulous moment.

I had bought a bigger memory card because I take so many picutres! I pulled out my old camera and as soon as I went to use it I rememberd why I bought a new one! The old one is horriable! It will do till I get a new one!

Yikes! I feel you on that. My first digital camera is about 6 years old. Sweet Boand is it ever so horrid. What is funny is I bought a more expensive cellphone with higher specs and it's camera is worse than the cheap cellphone I had before! LOL

Wow! That really sucks. I know that happened to a couple of friends of mine. I know it is easy for people to fence a camera at a pawn shop. They probably wiped your pictures off the camera. I always try to upload my pictures daily, because like you, I take lots and lots of pictures with it. I am so sorry this happened to you. I don't think $150.00 is that cheap of a camera. I'm sorry you lost the pictures, but at least you have the memories and it was only 1 day worth of photos. Hang in there... Try to have a better day!

I am so sorry to hear that you camera was stolen. I hate stealing even if it costs only one cent. It makes you feel bad, as something part of you have been taken away without your permission. I hope that you get a nice digital camera for your birthday or Christmas present. © ronaldinu 2008

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. It is saddening to hear about your loss. This kind of thing has happened to me also once and I lost some important photographs of me and my family, which i miss till today.

I just today was giving a thing to back up my pctures and music off my computer. You are soo right you can not get pictures back they are almost price less you cant relive the past so. When its gone its gone and you want to remember things. Funny faces kids make a beautiful sunset what ever it maybe. Never had mine stolen but I did lend one out was and it came back no longer working and i had tons of picures on it. I was so mad. I likely would have forgotten the memories if time had just past normaly but I remember them now because I remember to be careful who I lend what too.

That is so strange that they only took the camera! Very odd! Thank goodness it was just one day, and not weeks of photos or a vacation. By the way, $150 is a lot of money in my book too. Big hugs and kisses xxxooo

i love my pics, even old pics, it just means a lot to me, every picture has memories and stories, even if im just browsing old pics from my albums way back my gradeschool and highschool it really makes me happy and eventually i laugh out loud even if im just alone looking at it, so i really know what you feel, if that also happens to me i would feel really devastated!!!

I've had a couple of film cameras and other photo gear stolen over the years, but the upside was...no film was ever taken, and the insurance always paid out for a better camera than the one I lost. Hope you were insured!

No I wasn't insured - because it was a cheap camera - at least in my eyes it was.

Wow, that sucks. Pictures are a really great thing to have and even older ones, I'd rather not part with. Unfortunately I can imagine how horrible it must have been to lose even just one day's worth. About two years ago, I had over a thousand pictures on my desktop. Sadly, my desktop crashed one day and I pretty much lost almost every single picture I had taken (minus ones I had fortunately had backed up on Photobucket.com). Given that my camera didn't get stolen, it still wasn't a fun experience. That is odd though, to steal a camera and leave everything, money included, just sitting there. People are weird though. I really don't know what I would do if my camera got stolen. Fortunately I don't really have to worry about that one though. My camera is almost always inside my house and when I take it somewhere, I make sure to keep it close by with my eye on it.
