I am familiar with stem cell research and the role fetal tissue plays in it to an extent. I do not know all the proper names but I do find this new research a little uncomfortable.Do you think that this type of research should be such a big priority in america?Do you think that at some point supply will be exhausted and the demand for fetal tissue could become something dangerous for americans? Example what will they do to get the needed tissue for research? Do we even dare to ask? I am all for advancement in science to help cure disease and to help people with illness. I am not in favor however of hurting one person(s) to heal another and I just fear it may one day reach that point. What do you think?

As far as I know, stem cell research uses embryonic tissue rather than fetal tissue. Stem cells can be extracted from many other sources as well such as umbilical cords and bone marrow. I wouldn't be worried about scientists killing unborn children to get their stem cells.

I have a question and it is mainly because I don't understand something. If the research can be done by using other sources why would anyone not support it?I am being serious. I have really heard people who are against it.

Mainly the Christian people are against the use of human embryos because they are destroyed in the process. What scientists will do is create an embryo from a sperm and an egg, or use frozen embryos that aren't going to be used anyway. Mainly its the frozen embryos that are used. People are against it because scientists are "playing god" as they say by creating human embryos in a peetree dish. I have nothing against using embryos for research because it is simply a cluster of stem cells which all have the potential to become the various organs in a human being. If you have any more questions please continue to ask.
