I don't bake to many cookies, but I love my tea cakes. 2 eggs 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. cooking oil 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. self-rising flour Put all ingredients in mixing bowl; mix well and drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet (greased). Bake at 425 degrees about 10 to 12 minutes. Tea cakes will harden as they cool.

Here's a good one I call Snow Flake Brownies. 1 1/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter or margarine 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. A.P. flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1 cup milk 1 cup shredded coconut In a pan heat sugar , butter, and cocoa powder over med. heat. Remove from heat . Add eggs and vanilla. Beat lightly till combined. Combine flour baking soda and powder. Alternately add flour mixture and milk. Bake this in preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes . Take these out then spread coconut and bake for about 5 minutes more or until brownies are done.

I just made cookies yesterday for Hubby. There a basic Chocolate Chip I got from the 1978 Betty Crocker Cookbook (the red cover). They turn out perfect every time and every one loves them. My Stepmom had that cookbook when I was growing up and used it to help teach us kids how to cook. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

It is tough sometimes to find good recipes let alone be able to pull them off . I think you have to have the natural love to do it to begin with . I fell in love with baking as a child when My grandmother would make homemade hard candy and chocolate covered cherries. I loved sitting there watching the candy form and take shape . Every thing would be done around 3 o'clock in the morning so when the rest of the family woke up they would have all the sweet treats out in front of them in pretty dishes . It made me feel like a little elf.
