Sexist Comments Made during a Conversation!

Well I was talking to my boyfriend, while we were on the couch talking about a the show life. Because in this show we the have one of the cops that look and act like an friend that we no longer talk with. During this conversation my other half states that the last person who saw him was another one of our friends and that he had mentioned to this friend that we no longer talk to him after a fall out. I looked at him and he stated."Due to the fact we aren't we that was the end of the conversation." Talking about wanting to nail certain parts of his anatomy to the wall. Grrrr. So my question to you is how many times when you have been in a conversation and someone has said something sexist and do you remember what it was and did it piss you off.

The answer in short is yes I have and no it did not!but I am of the mind that a lot of sexism, racism and ageism is taken out of context, where by years ago we could come out with the relatively harmless quip and no one would have thought any the less of us,now we have to be so politically correct the world has gone mad!I would have no truck with anyone who was being insulting, but there are many who would say something in a totally innocent way,yet get spurned for it.If someone calls me something silly it certainly would not instantly offend me,as many say such things in light heartiness. We used to have a world where the `isms` were there ,but mot to an extent that they would cause huge problems, but now every day in the local and world wide news and news papers we have court cases running, between employers and employees, and many thousands of pounds are being used for legal aid,and often the case to be answered is quite trivial.

YES! ITA! I KNOW I'm not the only person who's sick of PC-ism! Time once again to remind where this evil stuff began----STALIN. In HIS time, if you said or did anything politically incorrect (yes, he INVENTED the term!), you might be shot, jailed, or just disappear. Maggiepie Politically INcorrect & proud of it!

I've heard too many sexist remarks made during conversations with significant others to remember, but what sticks out in my mind even more is hearing your significant other make disparaging remarks about females with their male counterparts on the phone. During a conversation with me any remarks can be played off easily, but what excuse can you come up with when you are overheard talking to your friends in the same manner. That really ticks me off.

I know what you mean... My SO is always making remarks to get my dander up because he believes if we have a little argument here and there then we won't have a big blow out. LOL!!!

During breakfast, aunt offers Tom a banana. Tom says, I'm already full and can't eat this huge banana. It's as big as me (read mine)!

Bella, please forgive me, but I'm confused. It MAY be, in part, your grammar. "...talking about a the show life," for example, & "we the have one of the cops that look and act like a friend that we no longer talk with." Huh? Do you mean the actor resembles a friend (or rather, EXfriend)? Or that the actor WAS your friend? Further, "Due to the fact we aren't we that was the end of the conversation." Is that SECOND we a typo? If not, are there changes in both your spouse & the cop (lookalike?)? But THE most puzzling thing was the idea that anything said was "sexist." Where? And why? On the whole, it appears to me you've actually tried in several different ways to say what it is you wanted, then accidentally edited out the necessary bits (& consistant grammar) to make it clear. Want to try again? If not, color ME completely confused!!! Maggiepie
