How often do you get to travel and see new things or place?

For me it isn't very often, more like 2 maybe 3 times a year if that. My wife has been to London, England and to France, but the farthest place I have been is to Lake Tahoe, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a birthday gift from my brother in law and his wife, so it was definitely appreciated! I have been to TN, FL, IL, AL, TX, NC, NV and CA, but I haven't really traveled to places like Mexico, South Africa, Rome, Spain, Paris, Russia, China and Japan. I would love to see those places one day. Someone once said that no matter where you are, you will always see the same thing: like poverty areas, wealthy areas, crime infested areas and everyday people dealing the best way they know how to with their individual everyday thing called life. Although, I think that maybe true, I still want to see those places I mentioned for myself. How about you, have you ever traveled to the place that you thought you would never get to see, and how often? Thanks for your responses.

I travel overseas at least once per year sometimes as many as three times in a year. In the past, when I was younger, I went on some long trips and my longest trip lasted for just over one year. I am now 36 years old and I have been to fifty different countries. When I was a teenager I went to France, Greece, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Tunisia and St Lucia. In my twenties I went to Austria, Leichtenstein and Switzerland. Next I went around the world and my route included the USA, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Then I went to Spain, Italy, Malta, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Kenya, Israel, Jordan and Hong Kong. In my thirties I have been to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, New Zealand, Samoa, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey, the Seychelles, the Maldives, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. My travel wish list is long and I do hope that I will live long enough to see every place on it. At the very least I must go to Cape Town, Vancouver, Peru, Egypt and Madagascar. My son is a toddler at the moment and he has been to four countries already in his life so far.

Unfortunately, I don't travel very much. Not really at all. I would love to, but I simply can't afford it. I have never been out of the country and have only been to a couple of surrounding states in my entire lifetime. Sad, huh? Maybe one day, I will get to get out and see the world
